What does provide security for your home? The doors supply it, and the feeling of being safety. Choosing new doors is important decision and it is not easy. Doors come in different sizes and types, and to choose the one that will suit your home style can be difficult sometimes. Once you purchase it, you have to install it.

Installing a new door is a challenge. The door has to swing smoothly, close gently; seal out the weather and give the security. If you have an accurate plan before buying a new door and installing it, then you have a good start.

If you want to change your current doors, and give your home an entirely new look, then your doorjambs, hardware and hinges have to be replaced too. First, you need to take the measure of the door opening. Use your type measure and measure the height, width of the door opening. Buy the door that is the right size, or a little larger than the door opening.

Keep in mind that a little space between door, frame, and the floor has to be left, but be sure not to overestimate the space that is needed. Door installation process is not that difficult, if you make some effort and spend some time on it.

Here are some instructions to follow in order to install an interior door:

• Draw a level line on the wall;
• Do this in the room the door swings into every hinge side;
• Next, screw brackets to the frame: one on the top; Install three on the latch side: the first – 30 cm down from the top, 5 cm above the latch hole, and about 15- 20 cm up from the bottom ;
• Moving to the hinge side, screw one below the top hinge, one below the middle hinge. And the final bracket under the bottom hinge.

Now you are ready to insert the door into the opening. A good tip is to space the bottom of jambs off the sub floor to allow for finish flooring or slightly out of level floors. Before nailing the jambs, make sure the door fits squarely in the opening and that the jambs are plumb, both from side to side and from front to back.

• Using the level line on the drywall match it with a line on the bracket ;
• Use the same line for each hinge as you work your way down the door;
• Check the clearance on the top of the door;
• It must be equal across both sides and in the middle – if it is not, you may need to raise the latch side;
• Continue screwing the door to the wall, adjusting for perfect clearance;
• Finish at the bottom, it has to fit perfect every time.

The doors are great improvements that add light and beauty to any house. They are the part of your home remodeling and you should be aware that if you cannot do the installation as DIY project, then ask some help in doing this.
